I'm not sure what you mean by the Lanana Route. It was some years ago when I did it and on that occasion we found a guide and porter from the local market. We were camping in the grounds of Naro Moru River Lodge and the staff there would help you. You need to be careful about trying to do it too quickly. We went up the Sirimon route spending a couple of days at Judmaier which is reachable by vehicle. We came down the Naro Moru Route which of course meant getting the vehicle transferred to the Met Station. If you can't do that and you're going up from the West drive,or get driven to the Met Station and head through the notorious Vertical Swamp. That will drain you so once through you will need to camp. If you get as far as Mackinder's Camp well done indeed. You need to set off early on the day you aim for Point Lenana. The other advantage of going up and down the same way is, of course, that you can do that last day without your gear. People have done it up the Naro Moru route in 3 days but I wouldn't necessarily advise it. You may think a porter as well as a guide is not necessary but you don't know. Sometimes the fittest struggle at that altitude. I would certainly get driven to The Met station rather than walk it.
