The Will Rogers Dog Iron Ranch is truly "out in the country"...beautiful country I might add. The nearest food/restaurant is probably 5-7 miles away in the town of Oologah. The name of the restaurant is not coming to me, but there is a very good restaurant on the main street just 1/2 block West of Hwy 169...on the South side of the street.

To answer your first question: The birthplace is open 8a - 5p, 7 days a week. To answer your second question: As far as food is concerned, Oologah and Collinsville are two very small nearby towns with Claremore being close but somewhat larger. All three towns will give you a small assortment of comfort food eateries. Beware though, comfort foods tend to be high in grease and may not sit well after a short time sitting in your stomach. If you are looking for a wider variety of tastes, Tulsa is about a half hour away. Either way, I would stick with the eateries with at least 4 rating and read plenty of reviews to get a current feel of the places, best times to eat, atmospheres, etc...
