One week after Hurricane Francine made landfall, families are in need now more than ever. WDSU is working to highlight and speak with those who were heavily impacted by the storm. On Wednesday, a family from Kenner shared they are now displaced.

The dogs had been staying at St. Landry Parish Animal Control in Louisiana, but were transported to Binghamton due to the impact of Hurricane Francine. Recent adoptions freed up space at Broome's facility, and the Humane Society was able to take in some of the displaced dogs.

While recovery is still underway in Patterson after Hurricane Francine made landfall last week, residents say what is helping them the most is each other.
