Jefferson City to celebrate Veterans Day with meals, ceremonies
The Capital City is gearing up for Veterans Day. The United States has honored its veterans and active-duty military with a national holiday since 1938, when Congress declared Nov. 11 Armistice Day. The day was primarily set aside to honor World War I veterans.
