Paulo Dybala's contract situation had a part to play in Daniele de Rossi's shock sacking as Roma boss, according to Italian media. The Serie A giant made the surprising decision to relieve their club legend of his head coaching duties just a few months after extending his contract.

Marco Conterio has reported that with Dybala’s current deal running out in 2025, it had a clause in his contract which said that if La Joya played 50 percent games in the season for 45 minutes or more, an extension would be triggered. That extension would also guarantee Dybala a wage hike.
